Suzie Baer
NEW YORK CITY BASED INTIMACY COORDINATOR

Suzie Baer

Because uncomfortable scenes don't have to slow down production.

Intimacy Coordinator

I make scenes with simulated sex and nudity some of the easiest you shoot by respecting boundaries and supporting the director's vision.

I work to support the entire crew, making sure everyone knows what to expect and there are no surprises.

No one should feel uncomfortable coming to work.

As Intimacy Coordinator for a New York City crime drama, I coordinated a strip club scene involving two actresses and four actors. The scene included nudity and simulated gun violence.

I collaborated closely with the director, cast, wardrobe, and special effects. I established clear boundaries to ensure safety, and create a respectful, efficient working environment.

Provided intimacy coordination for a science fiction comedy. Choreographed an extended post-coital bedroom sequence involving nudity, props, and special effects. Client Testimonials

As a filmmaker who believes in the power of deep connection on set between actors, and of an intimate, small crew to achieve the ultimate truth of a scene, working with an intimacy coordinator sounded terrifying to me until I met Suzie.

I was afraid that having a controlling eye of a designated person would disrupt the authentic connection between actors. I could not have been more wrong.

Suzie opened my eyes to what an excellent intimacy coordinator entails and how much comfort they bring to a set while filming sensitive scenes. From her warm presence, intellectual charm, and great sense of humor, Suzie instantly became a beloved member of the crew.

Tina Makharadze

Director, The Earthquake

Stepping into my first production involving this level of vulnerability was intimidating, but Suzie made me feel completely comfortable, safe, and confident every step of the way.

She is warm, professional, and goes above and beyond—and her deep background in film production was a massive asset that helped the entire shoot run smoothly. I couldn't have asked for a better advocate on set.

About Me

I'm a graduate of the Film Department at the School of Visual Arts and worked as an assistant cameraperson for many years. Being on set was exciting but also a challenge.

Early in my career I worked on a low budget film called New York's Finest.

I vividly remember blocking a dolly shot and being told that the girls would be walking in, around, and out.  Maybe they walked it during blocking. When we did the first take I was shocked to see a line of women walk out wearing nothing but spiked heels and a thong.

If a person is going to be working with 20 naked women, they should know that before they arrive on set.
